This week is my 4th and final CIY, and year after year, I am always impressed in the way they manage to keep 1,500 teenagers entertained and, somewhere in the middle, create an atmosphere thick with God's presence and open for transformation. Somehow, the most shy of kids open up, the most heavily burdened find a home, and the most adamantly fortified find new faith. It seems no one walks away without being MOVE'd. And as I prepare to move on from this youth group, I can't help but realize how proud and hopeful I am for this new generation in the youth group; I get goose bumps thinking about their unbelievable potential! I have seen many of them come to know God more deeply and grow in faith. I have full faith in these guys, and can't wait to see what God does through them. CIY has been and will surely continue to be the place where that potential is put to use and hearts are given to God's service. The future aside, I can't even wait to see what God has planned for this very night! Keep this group in your prayers this week, as the next couple days may well be some of the most shaping in their teen years.
